Julie had co-founded and taught a preschool program in Fremont, CA, taught at the San Francisco Waldorf School, The East Bay Waldorf School, and has landed at home at Cedarwood. She also enjoys working with the parents who envision building a world for their children that is meaningful, beautiful, and true. After remembering her time as a young Waldorf student she was inspired to become a teacher and hasn’t looked back! She received her teaching certificate from Rudolf Steiner in 2013 and has enjoyed working with young children and all the joy, excitement and insight they bring to the classroom each day. Julie’s multicultural and biracial backgrounds have fed her passion for strengthening community and celebrating diversity.Īfter receiving her BA from Portland State University in Community Development and Organizational Change Julie worked in nonprofit community development organizations, but realized she wanted to work with communities in a deeper way through education.

Her father, a passionate French chef, taught her how to bring communities and people together through good food and laughter. Her mother, a Geechee, Black-American visual artist instilled in her a deep appreciation for bringing beauty and healing gifts into the world. Julie Sauton was born in Paris, France and has lived in many places across the United States throughout her life.
